I've been in contact with Tallal Garghouti, the creator of the vmTrac virtual appliance. Of the posted trac implimentations, vmTrac seemed to be the best setup: VMWare's page, Tallal's page. For all that is good, it suffers from the same "AssertionError: Authentication information not available. " that other trac vm's have. The fix is here:

My first posted virtual machine, Debian Sarge with PHP5 and Mysql5 and the activeCollab project management solution (version 0.7.1) is now available here. Forums have been created to help users with any trouble they might come up against.

This website is ment to be a collaberative space for virtual appliance help and support. New versions of VA's will be posted here and hopefully I can get some help in creating documention for the VM's hosted here. Site look-n-feel still a work in progress.
